zCycle Pad for iPhone & iPad

  • iOS 17 or later on iPhone or iPad
  • Bluetooth for FTMS smart trainers and/or BLE heart rate monitors
  • Pairs directly to your hardware over Bluetooth
  • Optional: Apple Health for workout export and profile import

Apple Watch companion

  • Included with zCycle Pad — installs when you install the iOS app on a paired iPhone
  • watchOS 10 or later
  • Shows live power, HR, cadence, and workout intervals during a ride
  • Pause, resume, and end rides from your wrist; interval haptics during structured workouts
  • Apple Watch does not connect to trainers directly — start the ride on iPhone or iPad first

Frequently asked questions

How do I use Apple Watch with zCycle?

  • Install zCycle Pad on your iPhone from the App Store.
  • Pair your Apple Watch with the same iPhone.
  • Start a ride on iPhone or iPad — open the zCycle app on your watch to see live metrics.
  • Use pause, resume, and end controls on the watch; structured workouts can buzz your wrist when intervals change.

Which devices appear when I scan for Bluetooth?

zCycle only lists cycling-relevant Bluetooth devices in Settings — not every gadget nearby. This applies to zCycle Pad for iPhone and iPad.

A device shows up only if it advertises one of these standard Bluetooth services:

  • Smart trainers — Fitness Machine Service (FTMS), Cycling Power, or Speed/Cadence
  • Heart rate monitors — standard Bluetooth LE Heart Rate service

Examples that typically appear:

  • FTMS trainers such as Elite Suito, Wahoo KICKR, Tacx/NEO, Saris H3, and similar direct-drive, wheel-on, or smart bikes
  • Power meters or cadence sensors that broadcast cycling power or speed/cadence over BLE
  • Heart rate straps and armbands such as Garmin HRM-Pro, Polar H10/H9, and Wahoo TICKR

Devices that are not shown include phones, TVs, headphones, speakers, smart-home gear, and other random Bluetooth accessories — even if they appear in your system Bluetooth list.

Wake your trainer or HR strap before scanning, and quit other training apps (Zwift, TrainerRoad, etc.) that may already be connected to it. If your hardware still does not appear, it may not advertise FTMS, cycling power, speed/cadence, or heart rate over Bluetooth LE — contact us with your exact model and we can help.

My trainer or heart rate monitor will not connect

  • Enable Bluetooth on your iPhone or iPad and wake the sensor or trainer.
  • In zCycle Settings, tap Scan for Devices and pair again.
  • Quit other apps that may be using the trainer (Zwift, TrainerRoad, etc.).
  • Confirm your device is FTMS-compatible (trainers) or a standard BLE heart rate monitor — see the FAQ above.

Apple Health workouts are not saving

  • Open zCycle Pad and allow Health access when prompted.
  • In Settings, choose which rider profile syncs workouts to Apple Health.
  • Workouts are saved when you end a ride on iPhone or iPad (if Health sync is enabled for that profile).

Where is my data stored?

Rides and profiles are stored locally on your iPhone or iPad. Apple Watch shows live ride data from your phone — it does not store ride history. We do not host your ride history on zCycle servers. See our Privacy Policy for details.
