Legal
Privacy Policy
Adam Codes Ltd (“we”, “us”, or “our”) develops zCycle Pad for iPhone and iPad (the “App”). This Privacy Policy explains what information the App accesses, how it is used, and the choices you have.
Summary
- zCycle is local-first. Your ride data is stored on your iPhone or iPad and, optionally, in your own iCloud storage.
- We do not operate zCycle Cloud accounts yet, do not sell your data, and do not use third-party advertising or analytics SDKs in the App.
- The App may send anonymous usage events (app version, device type, feature usage, optional trainer model) to our Cloudflare API to improve reliability. We do not send ride history, power data, or Apple Health data.
- The App may read and write Apple Health data only with your permission.
- The App does not upload rides to our servers.

Information the App processes
zCycle Pad for iPhone & iPad
- Ride and profile data — power, heart rate, cadence, speed, distance, workout details, rider profiles, and settings. Stored locally on your iPhone or iPad.
- Bluetooth data — the App connects to smart trainers and heart rate monitors you pair. Device identifiers and live metrics are processed on your device only.
- Apple Health (optional) — with your permission, the App may read date of birth, biological sex, height, weight, and resting heart rate to help set up rider profiles and heart rate zones. With your permission, it may write indoor cycling workouts, distance, energy, heart rate, and cycling power samples to Apple Health when a ride ends.
- iCloud (optional) — if you are signed into iCloud on your device, profiles and ride history may sync to your private iCloud container (
iCloud.io.adamlabs.ecycleapp). This data remains in your Apple account; we do not have access to it. - Apple Watch companion — when paired with your iPhone, the watch app shows live ride metrics and sends pause, resume, and end commands to your phone during a ride. We do not receive this traffic on our servers.
Website (zcycle.app)
This marketing site is mostly static. If you join the zCycle Cloud waitlist, we store your email in our Cloudflare D1 database. We do not use third-party advertising or analytics cookies. If you email us, we receive the information you choose to send. Hosting logs (for example from Cloudflare) may include IP address, browser type, and requested page for security and operations.
Anonymous telemetry & bug reports
- Install ID — a random identifier stored on your device (not linked to your Apple ID).
- Usage events — e.g. app opened, ride started/completed, app version, iOS version, device model, ride duration, and total ride distance (aggregate only — not GPS or per-second data).
- Bug reports — only when you choose “Report a Problem” in Settings; may include your optional email and a description you write.
How we use information
We use information only to:
- Provide indoor cycling training features in the App
- Sync data between your devices via your iCloud account when you enable it
- Save workouts to Apple Health when you enable that feature
- Respond to support requests you send us
- Improve the Apps and fix bugs
Legal bases (EEA / UK users)
Where applicable, we rely on:
- Contract — to provide the Apps you download
- Consent — for Apple Health, iCloud, Bluetooth, and local network access, which you grant through Apple system prompts
- Legitimate interests — to operate and secure our website and respond to enquiries
Sharing and disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information only:
- With Apple as part of HealthKit, iCloud, TestFlight, and App Store services you use
- With service providers that help us run our website or business (for example hosting), under confidentiality obligations
- When required by law or to protect rights, safety, and security
Data retention
- App data — kept on your devices and in your iCloud account until you delete it or uninstall the App.
- Apple Health data — controlled by you in the Health app.
- Support emails — kept as long as needed to handle your request and for reasonable business records.
Children
The Apps are not directed at children under 13 (or the minimum age in your country). We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.
Security
Ride data stays on your devices by design. iCloud and Apple Health are protected by your Apple ID and device security. No method of storage or transmission is 100% secure; use a device passcode and keep your software updated.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or restrict processing of your personal information, or to object to certain processing. Because most app data is stored locally or in your Apple account, you can delete it by removing rides or profiles in the Apps, disabling Health or iCloud sync, or uninstalling the Apps. Contact us at [email protected] for help.
International transfers
Adam Codes Ltd is based in the United Kingdom. If you contact us from outside the UK, your information may be processed in the UK or where our service providers operate, with appropriate safeguards where required.
Changes
We may update this policy from time to time. We will post the new version on this page and update the “Last updated” date. Continued use of the Apps after changes means you accept the updated policy.
